How to Land New Agency Clients

One question I am asked frequently is how to prospect new clients. And the answer is almost always confidence and making the prospect feel like you are on their side.. Confidence in your knowledge of your client’s space. Confidence in being able to speak the language of your clients. And being able to convey, that you want to form a partnership with them, rather than just trying to sell them on your agency, breaks the ice much faster than the normal pitches. 

You also want to create something valuable to give to them, and yes we are talking lead magnets, Listen, it’s still the golden grail of building your list. It’s the same thing you would do for your clients.. Now you just have to do it for yourself. Now depending on whether you have a linkedin outreach campaign, a facebook ads campaign, or any organic marketing campaign, you still need to be able to represent yourself with a case study, give them 10 free leads, or something of that nature to show you are an authority, you are extremely confident in what you are doing, and this jumpstarts nurturing your leads.

We all want the one call one closes, but those, honestly,  are very far and few in between, In fact it usually takes about 8 touches to land a deal. While that may seem a lot, it’s the automation of emails, linkedin messages, texts, calls, whatever makes sense to your offering that allows you to have a pipeline of prospects at many different stages, so you can begin predictably onboarding new clients month after month. 

Now getting back to the confidence part, the more versed you are in a specific vertical or niche, the easier it will be to have conversations that turn into sales faster. Understanding the pain points, and being able to solve potential Client’s problems with your expert knowledge of bringing in highly qualified prospects for their sales department is the name of the game. The client will begin to feel like you are on their side. And if you are able to guarantee results for your client, tangible ROI:  For example,” I guarantee I will deliver high quality prospects to you that will result in sales”. If you take this philosophy when prospecting, I guarantee YOU will have an up on most of the retainer model agencies that simply can’t deliver results.
